Why Line Striping Matters

Pavement markings help your customers navigate your parking lot safely and efficiently. When lines fade , especially after a Capital Region winter — people park wherever they want, traffic flow breaks down, and you're exposed to liability.

Fresh striping does a few things at once: maximizes the number of usable spaces, keeps traffic moving in the right direction, ensures ADA compliance, and makes the whole property look maintained. After sealcoating, re-striping is the finishing touch that ties the job together.

If your lot has been sealcoated without re-striping, you've done 90% of the job. The last 10% is what people actually see.

Line Striping FAQ

How much does parking lot line striping cost?

Pricing depends on the number of spaces, type of markings needed, and lot layout. Re-striping an existing layout is straightforward. New layouts or lots that need ADA markings, fire lanes, and custom stenciling take more planning. We measure the lot and give you a specific quote. Call (518) 759-7325 for a free estimate.

Do you re-stripe after sealcoating?

Yes — it's part of our standard commercial sealcoating process. After the sealer dries and allows for walking, we re-stripe everything: parking spaces, fire lanes, directional arrows, handicap spaces, access aisles, and all required markings.

What paint do you use?

Commercial-grade traffic paint designed for parking lot use. It's formulated for durability, visibility, and fast drying. Typically bought from Sherwin Williams. We don't use consumer-grade spray paint or hardware store products.

How long does line striping last?

Depends on traffic volume and conditions. In a typical Capital Region commercial lot, well-applied traffic paint lasts 1 to 2 years before it starts to fade noticeably. High-traffic areas like entrances and drive-throughs may need annual touch-ups. Re-striping after each sealcoat cycle keeps everything fresh.

Can you change our parking lot layout?

Yes. If you need to add spaces, reconfigure traffic flow, adjust ADA placement, or make other changes, we can plan and execute a new layout. We'll measure the lot, discuss your goals, and present a plan before painting.

What are the ADA requirements for accessible parking?

ADA requirements are based on the total number of spaces in your lot and include specific rules for layout, sizing, striping, and signage. Each accessible space must have the proper width, a clearly marked access aisle, the accessibility symbol, and signage mounted at least 60" high. Van-accessible spaces have additional width or aisle requirements. Non-compliance can lead to fines, complaints, and required corrections — so it’s not something to guess on. We handle all ADA layout and striping to current specifications on every job, so you don’t have to worry about getting it right.
